Cabot Trail — Where the Road Touches the Sky NOva scotia (Part 2)

Of all the drives I’ve taken in my life, the Cabot Trail might just be the most beautiful.

Twisting along the rugged coastline of Cape Breton Island, this 185-mile loop is pure magic—cliffs that plunge into the Atlantic, rolling highland hills, and endless skies that shift with every turn.

I spent most of the day pulling over—how could I not? Around every bend was another stretch of coastline wrapped in clouds, or a canopy of trees glowing in soft light. It felt less like a road trip and more like a moving postcard.

The Cabot Trail winds through Cape Breton Highlands National Park, a place where moose roam the forests and eagles soar overhead. But on this stretch, my focus was on the landscape itself—coastlines that looked hand-painted, treelines that danced in the wind, and clouds that put on a show of their own.

It’s not just a scenic drive—it’s a feeling. One of stillness, wonder, and deep appreciation for the natural world. I snapped as many photos as I could, but even the best frame couldn’t quite capture what it felt like to be there.

If you ever get the chance to drive the Cabot Trail, take it slow. Let the road pull you in. And don’t be surprised if you find yourself falling for Nova Scotia all over again.
